UK music funding checker
There's more funding for independent artists in the UK than most apply for, and most of it has a catch you only find on page three of the guidance. Answer five questions and this shows the grants, bursaries and showcase calls that fit you and are open now, soonest deadline first, with the catch for each.
Answer the five questions and the funds that fit you appear here, soonest deadline first.
Checked on the funders' own pages, last on 3 November 2026; rounds that have closed drop off by themselves. The funder's rules always win, so read their page before you start. Nothing you tick is stored or sent. The dates and amounts are on our funding deadlines page.
How to use it
- 1Answer five questions. Where you live, your age, where you are in your music, whether you're in full-time education, and what you do.
- 2Read the open ones first. The funds that fit you and are open now, soonest deadline first, each with the amount and the catch.
- 3Check the catch before the form. Profiles to register, match funding, invitations, a confirmed gig: the line that decides whether it's worth your weekend.
- 4Get ready for the next round. Standing funds that fit you but aren't open yet. Put the plan together now so the form is quick when the round opens.
- 5Read the funder's page. Their rules win. Open their page, check the date and the eligibility, then apply.
How we keep it current
The checker reads the same list as our UK music funding deadlines page, which we check on every funder's own page each week for the artists we work with. Each fund's eligibility comes from its own "who it's for" line. When a date passes, the round drops off without waiting for the next check.
Before you apply
Apply before you feel ready: the form is the plan. A fund application is your next 90 days with a budget attached, so if you've planned your release, half the form is written. Our release countdown gives you the dates to put in it.
Questions
What music funding can I apply for in the UK?
It depends on where you live, your age, how long you've been making music seriously, and what you do. There are grants for projects, bursaries, showcase calls and programmes. This checker matches you to the ones that are open now and the ones to get ready for.
Is there funding for artists just starting out?
Some. Early-career funds and the open project funds take artists at any stage, and showcase calls take anyone with original music. The bigger growth funds want a track record, often about three years, and say so. Apply where you fit now and come back to those later.
Why does a fund I've heard of not show up?
Either its round has closed, it doesn't fit one of your answers, or we haven't checked it yet. Open the list of the ones that don't fit to see the reason for each. The funding deadlines page has every fund we track.
How up to date is this?
Every fund is checked on the funder's own page each week, and the date it was last checked is under the checker. Rounds drop off by themselves once their date has passed.
Does a match mean I'll get the money?
No. A match means you look eligible on the funder's own rules. Funds are competitive, and the application is what decides it. Read the funder's page and write to the plan you already have.
Do you keep what I tick?
No. The matching happens in your browser. Nothing you tick is stored or sent to us or anyone else.
